The Late Afternoon Sky.

My feet may be stuck to the ground, but my head belongs to the clouds.

As usual, on the long car ride home today, I looked at clouds and scouted for birds in flight, desperately searching for inspiration since I really wanted to write something, anything, at that moment. But my creative side was sadly not at work. It just remained dismissive and stubborn and wouldn't budge.

But then lo, and behold, I saw a glimpse of the setting sun in my peripheral vision and decided to focus on it. And as my attention drifted away from the clouds, I realized that the sunset was a little bit different today. The sun was bright orange, the kind of orange that's really bright, and it just looked like a huge orb of light in the faraway distance. It was so pretty and lovely and being someone who does not enjoy sunsets so much, I found it to be a little mind-whirling and definitely breathtaking. I smiled to myself and reckoned that I should pay much more attention to sunsets. Forget the fact that they're over-rated. This afternoon's sunset hit my heart in the most endearing way.

Also, there was a whale of a cloud in the distance, a massive one that seemed to loom over the whole expanse, but it was not gloomy nor possessed rain. It was just powdery white with tinges of sunset-pink at the edges and a silver lining at the corners from the sun's radiance. Reminded me of a cherubim, to be quite honest. Needles to say, it was very beautiful to look at.

Also, there were lots of stray cirrus clouds present. They looked like palmetto pink and light-orange streaks and brush strokes in the air. Found myself getting lost in them.

...

This late afternoon sky was amiable and made you think of happy, carefree days. And you can never go wrong with anything that reminds you of being happy and makes you think that life is still worth living.

I am officially a daughter of the sky.

Meh.

So today was one of those lackluster days where nothing interesting really happens and it just sort of passed by and then by the time you notice it, most of it is gone already and you start to think, "What happened?"

I didn't have to report for Social Studies class, which was a relief, but a little letdown since I practiced on my report. But I didn't complain when Ms. Gatoc told me not to report anymore since we didn't have any extra time left. She said I'd still get my score though. A little piece of consolation was nice, I guess.

Biology was tough. Spent half of my time last night doing the homework for our lesson in Genetics and ended up getting a fairly low score because my order of the genotype and genotype ratio was wrong. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PERFECTLY CORRECT EXCEPT FOR THE ORDER AND I SPENT AN HOUR ON THAT ASSIGNMENT. Ms. Dimzon is one of the most inconsiderate teachers I know. Though I have nothing against her except for that.

Also, NAT Review was zZzZzZz. They relentlessly replaced our Library Period, which is the only free hour we get in the expanse of the whole school week, with NAT Review/Enrichment Classes which is making me doubt the amount of love I have for my school, which was dwindling at the seams even before this tragedy took place. Preparation, my ass.

Lastly, I have this long quiz tomorrow in Social Studies about foot binding, Dynasties of China, Early History of India, and the Early History of Japan (Nara Period) so I should be going right now. Yay for Asian History! :3
