There's been a wave of personal posts lately.

Hi, guys. I just got home from a grand family reunion and let's just say it was overwhelming in a way I can't describe. Overall, I didn't particularly enjoy myself but I had a little bit of fun in some parts. Maybe it's just because I don't really think of my dad's side of the family too well. I'm not close with anyone and it seems that I want it to stay like that. Forever.

Anyways, the late morning and afternoon in bullets:

  • It was hot. Typical Philippine summer weather kind of hot in which you kind of want to punch everything around you and live in your refrigerator. I was fanning myself non-stop and even the air-condition didn't help.
  • The obligatory family mass was bearable. Since the two presiding priests were my cousins, I didn't have to pretend that I was interested because I was actually listening to the things they said and even laughed gleefully at some parts. Maybe because I could relate to what they were saying given that the things and punchlines said revolved around the family.
  • Lunch was good. Mac 'n' Cheese, cheesecake, chocolate cake, and ice cream. Good thing Mom didn't see my plate or else I would've gotten an earful about my abusive daily sugar intake.
  • And then the introductions rolled around. When my name was called, I just kind of stood awkwardly and didn't even look up once. And everybody laughed when they saw that I was taller than my sister, who is 11 years older than I am, and that we had the same hairstyle. The floor was still the most interesting sight to see.
  • And then they made me in charge of the children's parlor games. Oh lord, when they called out my name, saying that I was to manage the screaming overexcited little children, I almost passed out. I absolutely have no tolerance for kids. Especially jumping kids who are high on Coke and chocolate cake.
  • It went well in the end though. I think the main reason why they cooperated with me well was because I looked like I was going to cry or something. They even lined up properly when I handed out the prizes to the winners. /proud
  • I met a darling little girl who looked like a Precious Moments doll with her fair skin and
  • And then like typical Philippine bipolar weather, it started to drizzle so we had to transfer the games inside even though it was meant to be played outdoors. 'Twas okay though.
  • Can I just say that adults making fools of themselves while playing kiddie parlor games was the highlight of the reunion? Boy, was it ridiculous but totally entertaining.
  • After the games, the adults started singing some songs and then they wrapped the whole thing and everyone started drifting off, going back to their corresponding homes. Some people were from far, far away and some people were from even farther, farther away and had flights the following day so they wanted to rest and blah blah blah.
  • So everyone went home. Hence this post.
I'm tired. Once my Star Golden Bell episodes with SHINee as guests finish downloading, I'm taking a nap and then laugh at the sense of humor of Koreans.
