So before going home, my driver took a turn and we ended up in an isolated beach resort because he had to make some kind of special delivery. My servicemates and I got out as fast as we could to enjoy the view and fuck the sea breeze was so cold it really gave me chills as in goosebumps kind of chills and being someone who is a big fan of cold weather, it was almost too much to take but I still enjoyed every minute of the cold wind rushing through my entire being, as if its strong breeze cleansed me from all the negative thoughts and the sort-of melancholic state I've been in these past few days.
The waves were beautiful, albeit a little scary since they seemed to be surging forward in huge wallops, as if threatening to swallow us whole. We stayed on a higher part of the semi-observation deck so that they wouldn't get near us though. Then our driver came and said that we would be staying for another 15 minutes and asked if anybody minded. Needless to say, it was kind of a nice escape from the outer world so it was inevitable that nobody would complain about spending several other minutes in this small patch of sand and sea that didn't seem to fit in a small city.
I contemplated whether to continue reading Norwegian Wood since I was afraid that the never-ending struggle of the wind to blow us to oblivion would tear the fragile pages of my precious book. I found a big rock to sit on and the smell of sea salt lingering in the air until the familiar scent was swept away by the ferocious breeze while reading a really lovely book was too good to pass. So I stayed perched on the big rock reading until it was time to go home and bidding goodbye to the sea, sand, and wind was almost a little bit heartbreaking.
